Senior Captain Lauren Kelly closed out her career on Saturday at the Capital City Half Marathon in Columbus, OH. Kelly, who finished in a time of 1:45:49, finished well short of the national standard she was seeking (1:33:00), but Coach Herbert had nothing but positive things to say about his women's team captain. "Lauren has had an excellent year," explains Coach Herbert. "For the first time in her time as a Cavalier, we've been able to keep her relatively healthy and she's run very well. Today was not our day and she missed that standard, but Lauren's been the heart and soul of our team all year. I've got no regrets with her, we gave it our best effort, she trained hard and went to physical therapy and did everything she could for this team, so I couldn't be more proud."
