Though some might have initially wondered how competitive a first year track and field program might be, the Golden Tigers performance at the SSAC Inaugural Track/Field Championship should have left no doubts in the mind of any skeptic about the ferocity of these Tigers! Brenau University's track and field team obliterated the competition. At the conclusion of the meet, the point tally showed just how dominant Brenau was in the two day event. The Tigers came in first place with a whopping 352 points followed by a distant William Carey University squad with 113 points. Emmanuel College claimed a third place finish (97) and rounding out the rest of the teams were Lee University (94), Loyola University (88.5), and Spring Hill College with 16 points. On the men's side, Emmanuel College finished the event with 228 points.
