The Cavalier cross country teams made school history again as they competed at the AAC Championship this Saturday, hosted by Milligan College at Sycamore Shoals Park in Elizabethton, TN. 

It was senior Talisa Bishop who once again led the Lady Cavs by finishing seventh overall as she covered the 5km race in 19:11. The freshman duo of Lindsay Mizok (19:22) and Elisabeth Elliott (19:44) finished in 8^th and 12^th, respectively, and junior Arilicia Adkins (16^th place, 20:39) and sophomore Elyse Gildernew (20^th place, 20:47) rounded out the top five scorers for the Montreat women.

"What an awesome race," exclaimed Coach Larios. "From Talisa all the way to Kayla, they paid the price and ran their hearts out.  This was a great example of how determined they were to make a respectable mark in this conference.  Obviously, Milligan has a fantastic team, and we wish them the best at nationals.  But, our girls left it out there too.  Bringing home the runner up trophy is a testament to our willingness to set goals and strive for them."

The Lady Cavaliers, who were ranked 30^th in the NAIA entering the race, finished in second place behind #18 Milligan College. Milligan placed five runners in the top six for a nearly perfect score of 18, while Montreat followed up with a very strong 59 points. Third place was King College with 101 points.

The women are vying for an at-large bid to the National Championship in Kenosha, WI, but in the meantime, Talisa Bishop, Lindsay Mizok and Elizabeth Elliott will represent the Lady Cavaliers as individual qualifiers. Bishop and Mizok were also both named to the All-AAC Team; Mizok and Elliott were both named to the All-Freshman AAC Team.
