Laurinburg, NC- The St. Andrews University Cross Country team hosted their first home meet in a few years on Friday evening as they hosted 3 colleges plus a few high schools and middle schools.

On the men's side, only two teams competed with Columbia International winning by default due to having enough runners to qualify for the team score. St. Andrews only had 4 runners entered in the race, one short of the needed 5 to score points. Drew Lindman of CIU won the 5K with a time of 16:59 topping SAU's freshman Danzel Jefferson who came in 2nd at 17:13.

Junior Tyler Beaver then finished 4th at 18:05 while freshman Chase Kopp came in 6th at 19:24. Fellow freshman Michael Hare rounded out the Knight runners with a time of 20:28 in 8th place.

The cross country team is next in action this Friday evening as they travel to Wilmington, NC to compete in the Adidas Seahawk Invitational.

WALESKA, Ga. - For the first time in program history, Reinhardt University's men's and women's cross country squads will host a meet as the Reinhardt Cross Country Invitational will take place on campus Saturday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m.

The meet will begin near the Funk Heritage Center across from the Brown Athletic Center. The runners will head east and cross Hwy. 108 and run the majority of the meet on previously marked trails that are available on a daily basis for the Reinhardt community.

The men will run an 8k race, or nearly five miles, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The women will start at approximately 9:15 a.m. and run a 5k, or just over 3.1 miles.

"We're very excited to be hosting a meet for the first time," said RU head cross country coach Jordan Turner. "It feels like this is an event that has been 15 years in the making. We're really excited to be hosting a meet, and we hope that a lot of our fellow students and staff can come out early in the morning and cheer on the teams."

A pair of Appalachian Athletic Conference foes will be participating in the meet as well as Truett-McConnell and SCAD Atlanta will be making the trip here for the meet. Also participating in the meet will be NCAA Division II foe Clark Atlanta.
