The Panthers scored 22.5 points on the opening day of the Sun Belt Indoor Track & Field Championships in Birmingham, Ala. The finals will be Tuesday at the CrossPlex in Birmingham.

GSU will send its indoor track and field team to Birmingham to compete Monday and Tuesday in the Sun Belt Indoor Track and Field Championships at the CrossPlex.

LaPorscha Wells was named Sun Belt's Female Athlete of the Week for Indoor Track and Field after setting a school record and posting the longest throw of the season in the Sun Belt.

LaPorscha Wells broke the school record in weight throw again a week after setting the mark to lead seven top-10 GSU finishes at the Samford Open.

GSU track and field will send competitors to Ohio and Alabama this weekend in the final competition before the Sun Belt Championship Meet Feb. 23-24,

GSU's track and field team won three events and had ten top-five finishes on Saturday at the ETSU Buccaneer Indoor Invitational in Johnson City, Tenn.
